Challenge

  • Identify and secure new retail leasehold premises across Australia in both Greenfield locations and existing shopping centres ear-marked for redevelopment and/or expansion
  • Provide assistance to existing members with their leasehold premises across Australia in terms of lease renewals, make good obligations and/or market rent reviews

Action

  • Through regular liaison with various leasing agents, centre managers and shopping centre owners, identifying and presenting new leasehold opportunities to members
  • Application of uniform and consistent methodology during negotiation of leases for both new and existing members ensuring the best possible outcome for each location

Result

  • Securing of various Greenfield locations, thereby increasing Sigma’s market profile and presence across Australia
  • Existing members have benefited from independent property advice, which in many cases has generated quantifiable savings in the form of:
    - reduced occupancy costs
    - reduced capital expenditure for fit-outs
    - reduced re-decoration and make good obligations
