Challenge

• Conduct a stay versus go assessment, including an analysis of their current office at Darling Park, Sydney (including capital refurbishment costs)
• Identify and secure new premises for current and future requirements
• Effective project management of fit-out programme and ensure within budget and on time delivery

Action

• Researched the Sydney CBD market thoroughly and presented the client with all relevant information regarding the available options including detailed financial and non-financial analysis
• Analysed opportunities of locating a suitable tenant to assign the lease at the existing premises
• Negotiate all commercial terms & conditions with the landlord of the new premises
• Determine an approved fit out budget of $36.5 million and project coordinate the entire construction process, including appointment and direction of all consultants involved (architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, etc.)

Result

• The successful completion of the relocation of Fairfax Media corporate headquarters
• Negotiation of above market lease terms and conditions
